About English

Department of English

The Department of English is one of the oldest academic departments of the institution. It caters to the needs of students coming from rural backgrounds and helps equip them with the ability to transform their knowledge of an academic subject into a practical, strategic career tool.

The department follows the curriculum designed by Panjab University, Chandigarh and aims at promoting academic excellence through the comprehensive study of language, literature, and communication. Seminars, workshops, literary activities, guest lectures, and extension programmes are organized at regular intervals to hone the skills of the students.

Integrating the study of Language and Literature with traditional and modern approaches helps the students in developing a keen competitive spirit in the relentless pursuit of excellence.
