About History

Department of History

The History Department is one of the oldest departments of the College and has been working successfully for many years. The department teaches students about the history of India and the world, helping them understand the past and learn important lessons for the future.

The department also organizes seminars, educational tours, heritage visits, and other academic activities to make learning interesting and immersive.

The History Department is proud of its long tradition of quality education and continues to inspire students to become responsible and knowledgeable citizens.

Department of History

B.A. / B.A. (Honours) History

An undergraduate programme covering ancient, medieval, and modern Indian history along with world history, offered through Discipline Specific Core (DSC) papers (Semester 1–6) and Major/Minor courses (Semester 3–6).

  • PSO1 Acquire comprehensive knowledge of Indian, Punjab, and World History.
