It is dedicated to the study of politics, governance, public administration, political theory, international relations, public policy, constitutional systems, and political behaviour.

Mission
- Provide comprehensive and student-centred education in Political Science through innovative teaching and learning methods.

Programmes Offered
Department of Political Science
Political Science offered through Discipline Specific Core (DSC) papers (Semester 1–6) and Major/Minor courses (Semester 3–6). Course structure and credit distribution follow Panjab University, Chandigarh guidelines.
Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs)
- PSO1 Develop a sound understanding of political concepts, theories, and institutions, enabling students to critically analyze the functioning of political systems at the national and global levels.
- PSO2 Acquire comprehensive knowledge of historical and contemporary political developments, with the ability to interpret their significance in shaping governance and public policy.
- PSO3 Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of Indian Government and Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations, Human Rights, and emerging global issues such as environmental sustainability, gender justice, and social equity.
- PSO4 Analyze the constitutional, political, and socio-economic challenges of the Indian polity and apply democratic values to promote responsible citizenship and ethical public participation.
- PSO5 Develop leadership, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills required for careers in civil services, public administration, policy-making, academia, journalism, law, and other professional fields.
