About Punjabi
Department of Punjabi
The Department of Punjabi at Guru Nanak College Moga is one of the most important and largest departments of the College. Since Punjabi is a compulsory subject, students from almost every discipline offered at the College — Arts, Science, Commerce, and Computer Applications — are directly connected with this department.
Functioning according to the syllabus and regulations prescribed by Panjab University, Chandigarh, the department is shaping the future of its students. It does not merely impart language instruction — it also plays a leading role in connecting the new generation with our rich literary heritage.
The Department of Punjabi forms the backbone of the College's academic structure.
Vision
To spread the mother tongue Punjabi, cultivate literary awareness, strengthen cultural and moral values, and nurture good human beings — this is the far-sighted vision of our department. By blending the Punjabi language, its literature, and our rich cultural heritage, we aim to create an academic environment that instils in students a high level of literary understanding, moral values, and pride in their mother tongue. Drawing inspiration from the eternal values of Sikh philosophy under the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, our dream is to connect the new generation with its roots and prepare it to compete on a global level.
